But is that happiness?

“If you want to do something pleasurable, you think you will be happy when you do it. You may want to marry the richest man, or the most beautiful girl, or pass some examination, or be praised by somebody, and you think that by getting what you want you will be happy. But is that happiness? Does it not soon fade away, like the flower that blossoms in the morning and withers in the evening? Yet that is our life, and that is all we want. We are satisfied with such superficialities: with having a car or a secure position, with feeling a little emotion over some futile thing, like a boy who is happy flying a kite in a strong wind and a few minutes later is in tears. That is our life, and with that we are satisfied. We never say, “I will give my heart, my energy, my whole being to find out what happiness is.” We are not very serious, we don’t feel very strongly about it, so we are gratified with little things.

But happiness is not something that you can seek; it is a result, a by-product. If you pursue happiness for itself it will have no meaning. Happiness comes uninvited; and the moment you are conscious that you are happy, you are no longer happy. I wonder if you have noticed this? When you are suddenly joyous about nothing in particular, there is just the freedom of smiling, of being happy; but, the moment you are conscious of it, you have lost it, have you not? Being self-consciously happy, or pursuing happiness, is the very ending of happiness. There is happiness only when the self and its demands are put aside.” – Jiddu Krishnamurti

It’s Beautiful to Enjoy Solitude

Expand The Horizon

It’s better to be in solitude for a while at times than having meaningless conversations over and over with someone whom you don’t want to spend your time with. Here I’m not talking about avoiding conversation with anyone; I’m just talking about having exhausting and meaningless conversations, and about solitude.

I find it better to figure out myself, do the things I want to do, lost in my thoughts, traveling, strolling around the places alone than being with someone who is faking, irritating or with whom I find it difficult to share time over unnecessary conversations. It’s meaningless and exhausting to spend time with people you really don’t want to spend your time with, and whereas sometimes it’s beautiful and enlightening to even enjoy solitude, and of course it is easy to enjoy solitude only when it isn’t forced.

There is a different pleasure, tranquility and power in being able to…

Happiness, With What it is Connected?

When you constantly fear and doubt to loose happiness, try to know the cause of that happiness, with what it is connected, and if it has some cause, then it is considered as temporary happiness, because if we remove the cause, happiness can also be removed. So don’t look for any cause to be happy, but just choose to be happy. Choose to be free from every such bondage, not easy though but everything starts with practice. We need to understand our own selves better; bondages are only there because there is someone to overcome them, otherwise they would not exit. Try to understand your doubt, fear, and anxiety, with what it is connected and will it help in any case to bring better things? Your happiness will always be yours as long as you live purely in it.

It’s Beautiful to Enjoy Solitude

There is a different pleasure, tranquility and power in being able to find contentment in solitude and if you are able to be content or cheerful in your alone times then even in the emptiest times in your life you can find serenity and happiness. It’s only you who can turn aloneness into good solitude, the good solitude has a constructive purpose, it may still hurt occasionally but if you know what it’s for, how it can be utilized and how it can be good for you, then the solitude can be enjoyable and would teach you something worth to learn.

By all this I just want to say, you don’t always need someone around you, as sometimes it’s good to be in solitude and to expand our horizons we need to go through both the phases. I’m not suggesting solitude is better than being with people. I’m just expressing what I feel and have experienced, sometimes it’s impossible to completely avoid aloneness in life, but remember it’s worth being open to get in solitude for a while till you get around someone to whom you can connect well than spending time with someone over meaningless conversations.

Descendant of Stars

We are not separate from the Universe, it’s within all of us, we are linked to it and everything which has existence belongs to the Universe. In the silence of night, have a look at the clear sky, look at those celestial bodies in the Universe sparkling like a diamond, see with the perception of interconnectedness, or see through the eyes of wonders, or see with an enlightened attitude. We are linked to those celestial bodies, we made up of the star dust, we all have connection with the stars, and we are the descendant of stars.

We all are made up of matter present in the universe, we are all interconnected to each other, and everything you do right now can affects someone. Our thinking, words, posture, attitude, everything ripples outward and can affect others. Our body, our thoughts, our brain, our emotions, our consciousness are inextricably linked with the matter in the universe, and with the other humans on our very own planet.

Once we understand or realize what is happening, and how it’s happening we become awaken and realizes how to live our life. I believe life should not be spend in search of happiness as happiness comes along with awakenings. The more awake we become, the more we realize the reality, the more we feel the life, and therefore, the more happiness prevails inside us. So, we don’t need any kind of magical power to transform or change our world. We have all of the power and energy we need inside ourselves already, we just have to discover it, we just have to understand it, we just have to realize and feel it.

It’s Not Easy, But Neither Impossible

Do you think life is short? Is it really short? I mean, how can it be short? It is not short; it is the longest activity of a human. Life is not short to spend on following our goals and ambitions but life is short to not follow our goals and ambitions. Life is short to spend on doing the things we don’t want to do and of course, life is short to hate and fight. Sometimes we get confused, or situation doesn’t let us do the things we want to do but that doesn’t mean we have to give up our goals and ambitions without trying our level best. Life is like a ride, a ride on an uneven path. Sometimes the path seems full of pits and hurdles, and sometimes the path is all smooth, flat and leveled. So take risks when you know can and do the things you want to do.

Spread a little love on the path you are treading and dream a dream. The world is bigger than our space and our actions have consequences, sometimes we didn’t realize it but we all contribute to our world in some way. We all are part of it and separation is merely an illusion. At the time, when we become aware with our inner self then we realize we don’t need everything we think we need. We realize there is a lot more we can do and we can achieve. We realize living up to society’s standards is not a life, living up a life on the rules or instructions of a society is not a life. We are all humans and we don’t deserve to be treated like chess pawns. So try to listen your intuition, have some goals and ambitions, be a learner and be a little crazy sometimes, have fun and smile more, and remember we can achieve our goals and ambitions by working hard and following our conscience. Let’s try to live our life to the fullest and follow our goals, dreams and ambitions, that’s where true happiness is. I know it’s not easy, but neither impossible.
