Excerpt From J Krishnamurti’s Talks

This is our problem, whether the mind, which is so burdened with past memories and traditions, can without effort, struggle or conflict, bring about the flame of change within itself and burn away the dross of yesterday. Having put that question — which I am sure every thoughtful, serious person asks — where shall we begin?

Shall we begin with change in the bureaucratic world, in the social structure, outwardly? Or shall we start inwardly, that is psychologically? Shall we consider the outside world, with all its technological knowledge, the marvels of what man has done in the scientific field, shall we begin there and bring about a revolution? Man has tried that, too. He has said, when you change the outer things radically, as all the bloody revolutions of history have done, then man will change and he will be a happy human being.

The Communist and other revolutions have said: bring about order outside and there will be order within. They have also said that it doesn’t matter if there is no order within, what matters is that we should have order in the world outside — ideational order, a Utopia, in the name of which millions have been killed.

So let us begin inwardly, psychologically. This doesn’t mean that you let the present social order, with all its confusion and disorder, remain as it is. But is there a division between inner and outer? Or is there only one movement in which the inner and the outer exist, not as two separate things but simply as movement?

If you say that it is impossible to change human beings, who have been like this for thousands of years, you have already blocked yourself, you will not proceed, you will not begin to inquire or to explore. Or if you merely say that this is possible, then you live in a world of possibilities, not of realities.

So one must come to this question without saying it is or it is not possible to change. One must come to it with a fresh mind, eager to find out, young enough to examine and explore. We must not only establish clear, verbal communication, but there should be communion between the speaker and yourself, a feeling of friendship and affection which exists when we are all tremendously concerned about something. When husband and wife are deeply concerned about their children, they put aside all opinions, their particular likes and dislikes, because they are concerned about the child. In that concern there is great affection, it is not an opinion that controls action. Similarly there must be that feeling of deep communion between you and the speaker, so that we are both faced with the same problem with the same intensity at the same time. Then we can establish this communion which alone brings about a deep understanding. ~ Jiddu Krishnamurti

Food For Thought #10

From silence, came thought,
from thought, came ego,
and from ego, came speech.
So if speech is effective,
how much more so must be its source?” – Ramana Maharshi

You know, in the case of most of us, the mind is noisy, everlastingly chattering to itself, soliloquizing or chattering about something or trying to talk to itself to convince itself of something; it is always moving, noisy. And from that noise, we act. Any action born of noise produces more noise, more confusion.

But if you have observed and learned what it means to communicate, the difficulty of communication, the non-verbalization of the mind — that is, that communicates and receives communication — then, as life is a movement, you will, in your action, move on naturally, freely, easily, without any effort, to that state of communion. And in that state of communion, if you inquire more deeply, you will find that you are not only in communion with nature, with the world, with everything about you, but also in communion with yourself. – Jiddu Krishnamurti

Nothing Much

Nothing interesting to read in this post but still writing to share it with you all, actually, I was just wondering that what all there is I’m trying or perhaps, will try. There can be more things I could think of but I jotted down 4 points, and putting it up here.

Getting into reading:

I do write blog post sometimes, but I’m from those people who sometimes like to write but are not much into readings. I always wanted to get into reading, few months back I planned to at least read a book in a month which so far I’ve done successfully, 3 books in 3 months, let’s see how far it goes, haha!

Start to follow music again:

Around 4 years back I was into music, I used to follow some bands, and I was from one of those people who like to explore and listen to different kinds of music but time has changed and I almost stopped following music, and perhaps, the reason is my most of the time is consumed by my Job. But there’s always a space, doesn’t matter how tight schedule you have, you can get time for other things you would like to do. So I’m planning to follow music back again, let’s see whether this will be happening or not.

Backpack trip:

I’m into traveling, and of course I travel a lot, most of the time it’s due to my Job reasons and sometimes I plan out my own travels too, and there are few places I have been to which I want to revisit, one of them is Leh-Ladakh. Hoping to pay a visit to this place once again, I want to explore this place more, and yes, there are few more other places too those I want to revisit.

Control over thinking:

I do not lose my cool easily, and I try to be calm in those circumstances also where it is difficult to remain cool, but that doesn’t mean I never lose my temper. I believe, to make wise decision it is important that your mind has to be at peace and calm, and for that you have to know how to control your thoughts. I’m working on this; let’s see how far I can go.

The Thinker and his thoughts #1

To make ourselves free from false or negative thoughts, first we have to get in touch with our own selves, and sometime to do this we need to embrace solitude, which most of us are afraid of, because in the silence we can introspect and listen to ourselves better when there is so much chaos in the mind and around us.

We Make Mess Sometimes

We all make a mess sometimes and no single person can be strong all the time, even if there is no big mess to speak of there is always some cleaning up to do but by overthinking or over analyzing, we actually block the intuitive flow of the mind. We all need to raise ourselves time to time, nobody is perfect. Be patient and present, be here now. The moment we are in, is the only thing real, as the past is gone and future is filled with illusions. The thing is how you see yourself is the key to changing your life, don’t let one little thing derail your peace of mind.

Peace and Love

Expand The Horizon

We are merely temporary residents on the planet Earth. We are all just visitors to this place, to this time, to this planet. We are just experiencing this whole universe and the world individually as well as collectively. We are experiencing our surroundings and all other things through our senses, through our mind, and through any other mean like something which could be a human creation too. We are nothing more than a speck of dust in the universe, even the planet on which we live and thrive is nothing more than a speck of dust in the universe. We are all just a result of billions of billion years of evolution. Our evolution and as well as our capability to create things which we want, desire and need is the reason why our world keeps on changing with time, the time which indeed is a concept. We are all…

Under The Benighted Sky

Expand The Horizon

Under the benighted sky, I used to feel my thoughts blending making roar,

All thoughts within my mind had waged mutual consistent war

Mystify to identify what was delusion and what was real,

Causes of delusions were unclear

Steadily time kept on changing with seasons unending,

My world was spinning empty days and nothing were there to be claimed

Then I dived into an ocean of hopefulness between perplex waves to find out my aim,

Here I stand up holding an hourglass of eternity that trickles sand endlessly,

Becoming more self-conscious, letting myself to be with more stable emotions,

Chasing dreams, my ambitions go far beyond the horizons,

Now a vision dropped in, standing on the sands of time but destination still to be claimed,

As the sun vanishes and the moon gear up to take on the skies,

With a gaze to the calm eternal sky with twinkling stars…

Random Thought

Expand The Horizon

When things are not appearing the way you wanted them to be, then it’s always better to analyze the things around you and introspect rather than dwelling in the period of disappointments and not moving ahead. Always take everything as a lesson because everything that happens in life is a valuable experience which could help you in the future and could make you a better version of yourself. It may not be what you want but it might just be what you need, it might just be what makes you stronger and better. The only thing that makes the difference is whether you get destroyed or you learn and grow.

Take responsibility, be with open mind, be open to embrace change for betterment, believe in yourself, don’t get disappoint easily, have patience, listen to everyone but be a leader of your own, expand your horizons and blame less; you might…

Belief

Expand The Horizon

A belief is having trust, faith and confidence in something or someone. It is one of the internal feelings which contribute in shaping our way of thinking and our perception too. When our belief changes, it changes our thinking and perception too. A belief is like a slide at a water park. If you fight it, you are just going to hurt yourself. You have to realize yourself that which slide to choose, which slide to ride, which slide to face, and which slide would be better. You are the one who chooses the slide and your mind is what helps you by giving you the options of what slide you want to ride on. Fighting a belief could be frustrating and would not lead to nowhere; so if you find yourself in such a situation of fighting against your belief then it’s always better to give up that belief…

Food for Thought #8

Expand The Horizon

When we are so hooked up in our beliefs, our ways of thinking, and our habits, we can’t seem to see or do anything outside of our comfort zone. When our views and habits are so rigid, inflexible, and hard to break, it seems like changing of anything is impossible or impractical, and having a better society or anything other would seem impractical too.

But here the question is – how to see beyond this line of impracticality?

Letting ourselves to figure out delusion and reality would be good but then we are so deeply conditioned by our environment, which consists of culture, education, belief systems and societal constructs ranging from gender ideas to assumptions on human nature. Our entire economic doctrines are built under the assumption that humans are inherently selfish or greedy. So how are we to make sense of what is real, what is practical, what is…
