And Then It Snowed

I’ve been on a trip with 3 of my friends last month to the scenic Parvati Valley, have already uploaded few snapshots in one of my earlier posts, and now sharing a small clip from the trip.

On 11 Mar 2017, we went to Tosh and as soon as we reached there, snowfall has started. Tosh is 1-2 miles ahead of Barshaini, and Barshaini is a starting point for one of the famous trek in his area, that is Kheerganga Trek. Our plan was to stay at Kalga, it’s a village near Barshaini, and then to cover the Kheerganga trek next day, but due to heavy snowfall we had to cancel our plan, and had to returned from there without trekking to Kheerganga, back to Manikaran.

If you love to be in the mountains and nature, this could be one of the best places for you to explore.

Dharamshala (India)

Since 2 days I’m staying at this place called Dharamshala, in the lap of Himalayas, a beautiful town. Today is the last day here, as I’m leaving tomorrow morning, been here many times. Just sharing a random picture clicked today in the afternoon, look at those clouds, I just love to gaze at those clouds floating and rolling over the hills and get lost in serenity of the nature. It’s a nice place to lose yourself in the nature for a while.

Perfect Day, It Was!

It has been drizzling here in Chandigarh since yesterday, and for me it’s a relief from the scorching heat. Temperature has dropped down to 26 degree Celsius, and today in the morning while I was standing on my balcony looking at the falling rain drops, I felt like to get into the hills just for enjoying the weather and the day, it was just a random urge. So I called up a friend to accompany me, picked up the key of my vehicle, and started to drive through the drizzle up to the hills with the music full on and the windscreen wipers in action, haha! I went up to Kasauli, a small beautiful hill station around 40 miles from my place, spent few hours there, gazed through the rain and mist to the beauty of nature, got drenched little and of course that fresh cool breeze on the face was rejuvenating, two hours of perfect nature therapy it was and then I came back to home.

Now while I’m writing this post sitting on my balcony relishing the weather, it is still drizzling here, I’m listening to music and sipping green tea, and thinking about few things. Here’s something I would like to write about what is running inside my mind :

Somewhere, I read that ‘traveling is fatal to prejudice, bigotry and narrow-mindedness’. I just do not agree with this statement, I mean, then how about “those” rich people who travels all around the world and are full of prejudice and are still with narrow-minds. This statement doesn’t make sense to me, you can learn a lot from traveling only when you are open to exploring things, open to growth, understanding, experiencing and learning new things, and know how to appreciate or relish even little things too and yes of course, willing to put your ideas, thoughts and yourself out for judgment, and not getting negatively affected by wrong judgments despite learning lesson from it if there is any to learn else leaving it behind.

Now ending up this post, and leaving you with this beautiful piece of music by Pearl Jam, I had a great day, you too enjoy and have a wonderful time ~ Vikas Sharma

Mcleod Ganj, A Fine Hill Station

Just came back home a day before after an official visit to one of the finest hill station, that is Mcleod Ganj. It’s a small and beautiful hill station in Dharamshala (situated in Himachal Pradesh, India).

There is a 10Km long Trek known as Triund around Mcleod Ganj, I really wished if I could go for it but as it was an official visit for some official work I didn’t get time for it but I will come back once again just to do this beautiful trek up to the Triund Hills.

Just in case, any of you planning to go there then for your information I would like to share few things to visit in Mcloead Ganj like Tsuglagkhang Complex, Bhagsunag Waterfall, Dal Lake, St. John in the Wilderness, Bhagsunag Temple, and also there are some treks worth to pay a visit at least once like Triund Trek with a majestic view of Dhauladhar mountain Range.

McLeod Ganj is also a residence of His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama and the site of the Tibetan exile community’s main temple. The Tibetan government-in-exile is based just downhill at Gangchen Kyishong, and McLeod is home to a large Tibetan population, including many monks and nuns, and due to large population of Tibetans it is also known as Little Lhasa or Dhasa; a short form of Dharamshala used mainly by Tibetans.

Mcleod Ganj has some very magnificent views of nature with snow clad hills around it, and one can find many activities and things to do in McLeod Ganj like day hikes/trekking, camping, strolling around the hills and watching the scenic beauty of nature, spending some peaceful time in the lap of nature, also there you’ll find workshops and volunteer opportunities too.

Clouds and Rain

Right now at this moment, it is cloudy with intermittent rain here at my place in Chandigarh, weather has been cloudy and rainy since last few days. I’m putting up here in Chandigarh since last three years and it usually didn’t rain at this time of the year but then we can’t be sure about the nature. I’ll be leaving for Kullu tomorrow as of my some official work there. It’s a beautiful place with so much bestowed natural beauty with its beautiful snow clad mountains and more. I’ll share pictures if I get a chance to click some during my visit. That’s the update from my side for now, but wait I would like to share with you all a thought or just one of my opinion, that is:

Awareness is powerful, and when you become aware of your fear, weakness and pain or simply when you overcome them then it turns you into a more stronger person as knowing or overcoming your fear, weakness and pain will certainly make it more difficult to other people to turn them against you.

Art, Adventure, Traveling, Exploration and Nature Connection

I believe and have experienced that we can expand our mind through art, adventure, traveling, exploration and nature connection. Every time when I travel into the nature, it opens my mind to more radical thoughts and gives me incredible sensation and joy, it gives me more positivity in my thoughts and makes me feel so serene from within. Every time when I travel into the nature, it makes me to think more peacefully and to question everything, it makes me feel that our everyday perceptions are only a tiny fraction of reality and everything is nothing with a twist.

Through art, adventure, traveling, exploration and nature connection we can expand our understanding of complicated maze that is the human and of course of the world around us too. Through any of these we may get more clear perception of the surrounding world and new possibilities to interpret it. It can broadened our views on life and can make us think in an entirely different way. I love to have adventures and love to be in the nature whenever I can be. I wish I could travel more not just into the nature but to all the places worth to see, feel and explore, haha! It’s just few things which keep me restricting from traveling most of the time else I would have been a traveler all the time, roaming around the world just to feel the rays of sun from different horizons, just to explore more, just to watch sunset and sunrise at different horizons, just to gain new experiences,  just to feel and understand the life and the world more.

Have a good day/night ~ Vikas Sharma

To Travel is to Live

In a beautiful serene place climbing a mountain, a hike, sitting by side a waterfall, strolling on a meadow or a walk into woods will make you feel to be in bliss. To be in nature and surrounded by its beauty is amazingly refreshing. The fresh and gentle cool breeze on your face will blow its own freshness into you, tall trees and huge mountains around you will make you feel crazy in an awesome way, at some places you feel like above clouds or surrounded by clouds. Nature can offer us many epic and remembering moments only if we know how to be in nature, its tranquility will flow into us as sunshine flows on our planet only if we know how to be in nature.
I always find it amazing and tranquil to be in nature, surrounded by mountains and nature’s beauty. Standing on top of the mountain and looking at the world below makes me smile for some few reasons. I love to travel; it makes me feel so alive and refreshes my mind to the core. Somebody rightly said that to travel is to live and I wish to travel more doesn’t matter whether in hills or plains. I wish to experience, explore and learn more and I hope will.

Uncertainty Exists in the Nature

It’s been a long time since I’ve published any post here in this space, and the reason is I’ve been working on few of the things which are taking up my most of the time, and meanwhile, I’ve been caught up in few of the more things which I’m still trying to sort out. Sometimes things can be so blur that you don’t have any exact idea where you are heading after all your attempts to tread on a path to search another one or to make a space and base for the formation of bridge between the ends of one to the starting of another. Sometimes things can turn out in such a way that you wonder and think: would it have been better if you did those things which you felt needless at that moment? Uncertainty exists in the nature and there are always possibilities of anything, and nevertheless rationally you can find the answers or perhaps just with an open mind. In a nutshell, I’m enjoying my ride with all the ups and downs, and I know things are bound to get better if I keep on moving to make them much better.

Much love ~ Vikas Sharma
